winter time

Wanted to go fishing this morning since i haven't had the chance due to bad weather. So i woke up and put all my layers on and headed out to the truck. My thermometer in my truck said 6 degrees, but i felt more like 20.Started my drive to Roaring River and noticed the temperature was 11 degrees and thought wow that i might warm up by the time i got to the river. After my 40 minute drive i was at the park.Put on my waders and boots and rigged up my rod and after 5 minutes my hands were extremely cold.Started my truck and cranked the heater up full blast. After a glance at the thermometer i noticed the temperature had dropped to -1 degrees. So i had all my gear ready to fish and walked down to the river.Made a few cast and bam a small trout had eaten my fly. After a short fight i had the fish to the bank.Within 15 to 20 minutes my hands were frozen.Walked back to the truck and thawed my hands. Finally i was ready to fish again.I fished a few more good looking holes and caught a few more fish. After fishing the normal holes i walked down to the catch and release area.Fished all the good spots and caught a few more trout, but nothing of any size. After fished all the holes that hold fish i walked to the truck and unloaded all my gear. Now the fun part the drive back home. While fishing all morning in temps well below freezing i learned a lesson.Any temperature below 20 degrees is dang cold, and extremely painful once the numbness goes away. All in all it was a good day, and a cold but beautiful day to be out in the ozarks.
